Plus I dont get some of it really. AKA the battles = Why dont they go after the "trainers" instead of the Pokemon?

Oh and I dont like anime so that might factor to why I dont think much of it... Any way, can someone please tell me what is so good bout pokemon please?

i don't like it much either but despite none of it making sense i still like it i mean it's something to do i spose, i like it personally beacause of collecting and leveling i suppose

The anime is next to nothing like the game
Also Pokébattles are sort of like a sport but to be honest that doesn't explain team rocket at all.

But its a game. It doesn't need to make sense. We play games for a break from reality, not be be crushed by the tedious rules of reality. Not to mention its a solid RPG, with plenty of technical elements to it and a fairly interesting twist on turn-based battles. The variety of strategies and movesets keep battles with other people fun, and the main game itself is quite challenging compared to some titles these days.

Hmm. I need games to make atleast a bit of sense though. Like Oblivion "Emperor tries escaping, cos of his bloodline, he knows he dies soon, sees you, He dies, you go find a leader of a bunch of knights, turns out that Mehrune wants to destroy mortal beings and invades Nirn (It makes sense how the game puts it, trust me)

i'd suggest just whatevers cheaper, i mean the newer ones have lots of gimicky bits feels a bit too much gimmicks to me. But the earlier games have less pokemon and only pokemart, pokecentre(healing) and daycare(leave pokemon there, can make eggs and level there) and gyms(fight to get badges,main objective) and safari zone(get really rare pokemon here by using rocks pokeballs and bait, rather than battling) then thats preety much it. But then in the new ones there is pokewalker,global trading station,trading between ranger and pokemon( meaning you can't get 2 pokemon without pokemon ranger),more in depth evil organisations, on the newest two you can get all pokemon from all 4 generations

You've never seen to the Battle Frontier or a proper competitive battle.
Pokébattling is a sport, not a bloody gladiatorial battle.

Emerald is good but seriously, Heartgold\Soulsilver are the greatest. Gold & Silver were the best games, and HGSS are excellent remakes.

Also, why don't you like anime? its awesome.

Pokemon were better before, now its kinda repitive and not much else, i never played the card game though...

I have been brought up hating anime so yeah.

Plus I dont play that many Japanese games if you havnt noticed so I havnt heared of any of those. I dont know why but Japanese games just grind my gears.

I dont like the style. I dunno, I hate the massive eyes and then the very tiny mouths (In some anime, dunno bout all)

Also when they emote like crying it goes rather spazzy. Sometimes the background goes wierd and they start hopping around. Plus some anime (not hentai (I think? Am I correct?) cos thats proper anime porn) is animated LIKE porn.

E.G I watched 1 pokemon episode and it was animated like porn and thats for children. Meh. I dunno.

BTW this is all just my opinion, it might not be fact but still

I dont know. I just dont like the style. I never have. I just find it looks stupid. Argue against that if you want but this is my opinion and I believe its valid.

In the normal storyline,there is really no tactics besides levels and type advantages.

HOWEVER

Once you get into competitive battling,tactics comes up a lot.

IV Breeding,EV Training,Items,Moves,anything can change a small battle to a complete loss.
It doesn't MATTER if your pokemon is higher leveled or ahs a type advantage-if they know the tactics,they can probably beat anyone.

There is one particular trainer who pretty much invented EV training (can't remember his name) and his pokemon have very few damaging moves, he uses no legendary's or pseudos, and he has not yet been beaten.

Err... What is EV Training? Besides its only from what I have seen. I dont completly know.

Plus I got Pokemon now so I gotta crack out my DS

Its something really complicated. That's all you need to know because it makes no difference if you're not competitively battling really

Gen 5 pokemon look rubbish, in my opinion anyway it's looks as if it's designed for 3 year olds thats around 4-10 years off their target market
but only starters and two lagendary-ish pokemon have been announced but frankly just before 15th of june there announcing more so i'll see if any'll look any ggood
